Mother’s Day is a very special occasion for it celebrates how amazing our moms are and for the simple fact that we owe them our lives. It is not an excuse to say that you have a busy schedule for when it comes to your mom you should make time and our moms are truly understanding to simple gestures would mean a lot to them.

Here are some great party ideas that she won’t forget and it is easy to do that even kids can do it.

1. Barbecue Party – This year’s Mother’s day falls on Sunday and since its mid-Spring, we have a perfect weather, a not so hot temperature and the sun is shining bright. Grilling is easy for you can have hamburgers, hotdogs or you can ask guests to also bring something that will compliment barbecue or a favorite dish of your mom.

Here is a perfect barbecue recipe for Mother’s Day from the website SheKnows.com:
SLOW-COOKED BABY BACK RIBS
Ingredients:
Pork baby-back ribs
Store-bought dry rub of your choice
Barbecue sauce

*Note: The number of racks you need depends on how many guests you are planning on serving. Most guests will eat between three and four ribs. (It’s always better to have too much than not enough.)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet (you might need more than one) with heavy-duty aluminum foil and place ribs on the foil. Sprinkle dry rub on both sides of the ribs and pat the spices into the meat. Put in oven and bake for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. A few minutes before the time is up in the oven, light the grill. Take the ribs out of the oven, slather with barbecue sauce, and finish them on the grill for 7 to 10 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.

2. Brunch Party

Brunch is perfect for Mother’s Day, you can bring your mom’s friends and treat them with a sandwich and tea party or a fruit brunch. Here is a Sangria Recipe that will be perfect for your brunch:

This thirst-quenching drink can be made with or without alcohol.

Makes 2 quarts

Ingredients

4 cups seedless watermelon, chopped
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
Preparation

Puree the watermelon, lime juice and sugar in a blender until smooth. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine lemon juice, sugar and 2 cups water.
Bring to a boil and stir 2-3 minutes, or until sugar dissolves. Let cool.
Mix the lemon syrup with the watermelon mixture. Serve over ice.
Spike with your favorite vodka or tequila, if desired.
